Andrew is a contributing editor at Fin + Forage. A lifelong resident of Northern California, Andrew grew up exploring the tide pools of Monterey Bay and learning everything he could about the animals within. He began diving in 2012 while studying marine biology at Hopkins Marine Station and hasn't stopped since.

Although Andrew began diving for scientific research, he quickly became distracted by the quest for a better fish sandwich. He now spends his free time crawling through poison oak in Big Sur, and can often be found serving as Eric's shark decoy.

Andrew holds a B.S. in Earth Systems and an M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Stanford University, as well as a J.D. from U.C. Berkeley. In college, Andrew researched benthic recruitment of invertebrates in Monterey Bay to determine whether aging infrastructure could serve as a vector for invasive species. More recently, he has written about human rights abuses in fisheries and published an article about the 2019 Catch & Cook Competition in Spearing Magazine. By day, he is an attorney practicing environmental law in San Francisco.
