MEETING DATE CHANGED TO MAY 15TH Due to a massive swell that is going to work its way through the Central Coast over the next 5 to 7 days, we must move the meeting to the 15th. But here are all the details for our 1st official meeting of 2021. Location: Veterans Memorial Park Campgroup Group Site Directions Link The location is centrally located, but you must enter from Jefferson St, from downtown Monterey. It will take a little longer than normal to get there if you haven't been to this location before. Times: The BBQ is going to start getting fired up around 2:30pm Weigh-In for the "King of the Tritons" & "Biggest Fish of the Year" starts at 3:30pm and ends at 4pm Club meeting starts after the weigh in General Plan: Have a great morning of diving and find some amazing fish. The Tritons are going to host a BBQ with hotdogs and is planning on bringing some additional items to help with you making some awesome grilled fish sandwiches. It will be a pot luck style lunch, so if you want to bring a little something for the group, please do. But you should plan on bringing a few items of your own and to toss a couple fillets on the grill for lunch. The grill is a Santa Maria style grill with plenty of room to cook. We will have that grill hot and ready!!! Please remember to bring something to pack your carcass and guts out. We do not want to leave any fish or mess behind. If you are a good planner, you will gut a couple fish at sea so you don't have to deal with that at the meeting site. To see the park, head over to our IG page and you can see a video. Bring your kids to play on the playground and we will have access to bathrooms with plenty of parking. Prizes and Fun: We will be hosting a raffle to win a brand new Speargun, some Triton SWAG and some other cool items. Everyone who shows up will get a couple raffle tickets to through into a special raffle item pot. Raffle tickets will be $5 each or 5 for $20. All proceeds go towards our plans for epic adventures and events this year. See you on the 15th and we look forward to getting together!!!!

Sorry Everyone, I know this meeting seems to be changing all the time, but due to the unsafe swell predictions for this Saturday the Tritons' board has made the decision to move our December 7th meeting to January 18th, 2020. We cannot in good conscience encourage people to get into the water when conditions will be as dangerous as predicted. At the January meeting we will have our last club dive and weight fish for the 2019 King of the Tritons series. We will be awarding prizes for the 2019 King of the Tritons series at that time. We hope you will be able to join us. RW

Hi Everyone, The Triton’s board would like to invite our members to join us for our year end meeting on December 7th. The meeting will be at the Black Bear Dinner in Monterey. As always many of us will be diving before the meeting. If you’re weighing fish in the King of the Tritons series, remember the weigh in begins at 3:00PM. The meeting will follow the weigh-in at 3:30 PM. As always non-members are welcome to attend. We hope you will join us to honor of King of the Tritons winners and to hear about our plans for the upcoming year.

Hey Everyone, I just realized yesterday, as I was packing for the Triton X, that I some how picked up an extra float line that doesn't belong to me. I also have an extra kelp float. Both of these must have been picked up on the Peace boat trip in July. If you are miss one of these pieces of equipment please let me know. Robert Watson 559-289-6900

Hey Gang, Here's a video I shot recently during a scuba trip. Yes, Yes I know it's not freediving. I'm just not much of a fan of freediving in kelp at night. RW

Hey Everyone, I just thought I'd give a shout out to one of my favorite new dive toys. It's the XS Scuba Lt360 dive light. I picked up one of these a while back and love it. It puts out a very impressive 1000 lumens of light in a wide arc. It's certainly bright enough to light up the back of almost any hole. The body is made of a strong milled aluminum. Best of all it's rechargeable. When I have used it the battery has had more than enough power to last a full day at full power. The light also uses a magnetic switch that helps to prevent leakage because there is no hole in the housing. They aren't cheap, selling for between $160 and $180 depending on where you get them, but in my opinion they are worth it. When it comes to hole hunting a good light makes all the difference so don't buy one of those cheap under powered jobs. RW
